Care - Health Care Assistant 3
CORNWALL CARE – St Breock, Wadebridge
Healthcare Assistant Level 3
Up to 39 hours per week
Generous weekend working bonus, and every other weekend off.
Cornwall Care is built on love. Love of our people and love for the work that we do. As Cornwall’s largest provider of care, and a registered charity, we’re a little special – and now you can join us.
Redannick is rather like a giant bungalow! A very homely home, from the little garden with cheery dahlias and a potting area, to the cosy kitchen-table-style dining rooms.
We are not a nursing home, but we do specialise in mid-stage dementia and mental health needs. You’ll come to know our residents well – all have different personalities of course. We thrive on providing an array of activities – there’s music and baking, even rides in the minibus – to keep joints moving and those precious minds active.
Working for us
You’ll soon become part of the team; learning the ropes from your new colleagues, and being guided through our essential training. By the way, our training is so good it has won awards.
Proud that we’re a Healthy Workplace Award winner too, we focus deeply on your own wellbeing. Our carefully chosen staff benefits deliberately provide for your mental, physical and financial health – to take care of you, as you take care of others.
For those who would like, there are very real opportunities to progress with us. You may wish to move up the ladder in care, or to explore the huge variety of other roles we have, in locations across the county.
Our brilliant Care Academy, in partnership with Cornwall College, gives you access to free courses and qualifications – from vocational knowledge such as understanding dementia, to industry-recognised Diplomas, and business management specialisms. The Cornwall Care world is your oyster!
About the vacancy
Ok, we know it’s not a glamorous job. It’s hands-on, very ersonal, and sometimes challenging. But, it’s massively rewarding and will enrich your life in ways you haven’t imagined.
And with carers at last being valued and shown the recognition that they deserve, it’s an exciting time to become part of our extended family.
The most important thing you need to have? It’s the sprinkle of magic in your heart that very simply means you care. More formally, you will also possess a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care. This shift-leading role means you are responsible for medication rounds, and for supporting the staff alongside you.
Care and Coronavirus
We know that Covid-19 is never far from the mind, and we have tight measures in place to keep everybody protected. These include routine testing, Test and Trace, and of course PPE – making a safe setting for all. We’ll even do your uniform washing for you.
